Sam Raimi, director of the Spider-Man franchise, has revealed that filming on Spider-Man 4 will commence in February. Raimi added that he’s about to hire a “production skeleton” and hopes to have the film ready for its 6th May 2011 release date.

The full script for the fourth film in the franchise is being written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, but Raimi expects to have the first draft by mid-June. It is reported that actress Kirsten Dunst is already willing to sign on for the film based upon the strength of the screenplay.

While looking forward to the new movie, Raimi also had time to reflect on the last by admitting that there were many things he would like to go back and fix “What would I have done differently? I would have done everything differently, every single shot”.

This time around he intends to do the webslinger cinematic justice and said “I want to make the best of the bunch”.
