A marriage made in hell for Scarlett Johansson
Paramount have announced that they are going to remake the classic 1935 horror movie ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’ and Scarlett Johansson is set to star.
The 24-year-old blonde fox is tipped to portray a sexier version of the terrifying female monster, which was originally played by English actress Elsa Lanchester.
A source close to the production said: “The Bride of Frankenstein will be young this time. They’re looking for a person with great power and sex appeal” so it would appear the casting of Johansson is a perfect fit for the role.
The film, which will be scripted and directed by Neil Burger, follows on from ‘Frankenstein’, and sees Dr. Frankenstein create a partner again from from separate body parts for the monster from the first film. However, when the doctor brings the bride to life, she rejects the monster.
The movie is pencilled for release in 2011.
