Disney are about to jump aboard the remake band wagon as they prepare to re-launch the sci-fi adventure movie ‘Flight of the Navigator’.

The 1986 original faired badly at the box office grossing only $17 million during its run but it was rediscovered when released on VHS and became something of a cult hit.

Brad Copeland has been signed to rewrite the story which originally told of a 12-year-old boy who is abducted by an alien spacecraft in 1978 and reappears eight years later, still the same age and with no memory of what happened. NASA scientists discover a connection between the boy and a downed spacecraft and try to exploit the boy, who then manages to escape with the ship and attempts to reunite with his family.
