Basinger reduces ‘The Wrestler’ to tears

Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler Mickey Rourke’s performance in ‘The Wrestler’ lead to Kim Basinger writing the actor a letter that he has since admitted touched him so much that he cried.

He is quoted as saying “Coming from her, it was very special and it was a very generous and heartfelt letter. It brought me to tears, really. The note meant as much as the numerous awards received for the role”.
The pair, who starred together in ’9½ Weeks’, have just worked with each other again in Gregor Jordan’s ‘The Informers’. Rourke revealed how nervous he was to meet the screen icon again after a 23-year break.
